Gait analysis:
At the clinic we carry out kinematic gait analysis using high speed digital video.
We can use this to diagnose functional problems of the foot and lower limbs, which may not be apparent when walking and running is viewed normally.
As seen in a still frame of digital footage, deviation in vertical line plotted on back of heel indicates excessive pronation of the foot,which can lead to many lower limb complaints.This can be functionally corrected with a professionally prescribed customised foot orthotic. Frontal plane running angles are recorded and compared using computer modelling,then checked using a digital biometer.These measurements are used to create the final custom orthotic prescription.
